Admiral Yardell intormas me (?today) that

following is believed by Americans to be reliable

information. A landing operation is to be undertaken

by 25,000 to 30,000 Japanese troops conveyed in 30 to 40

transports. Date of operation said to be 20th December.

Place of landing unknown but advanced base said to be

San Chau Island 022 degrees north 113 degrees 20 minutes east. Objective said to be attack on Canton or Canton Railway

by advance through waterways and creeks.
